Lessons didn't have to have a date, but just a Day 1, Day 2, etc.

Many schools have an every other day schedule making dates difficult, not to mention that many times a lesson does not conclude on a specific date (fire drills, unexpected events, disruption, etc). This can throw off an entire week. Going by days can make things more simplified for many teachers.
