Open past School Years to date inside the school year.

When I click on the 2017-2018 school year to look at past lesson plans, I would like it to automatically go to the plans for that year. Right now, it gives me the current date and says "this school year ended 250 days ago" and I have to continue clicking back for a year to find the date I need.
