Quick switch between planbooks

I wish there was a faster way to switch between planbooks. I often refer to last year's when writing this year's; I don't want to actually copy or import the entire thing, but I want to quickly toggle between the two for reference. It would be perfect if the icon in the top right with my name and year just opened a drop-down of years or planbook titles, instead of taking me to same place as the home button right next to it. The planbook I click from there could pop up in a new tab or, better yet, next to my current one in the same window.
