Setting default link target/behavior

I would love to be able to choose a default link target setting. I have my class website embedded in my Canvas class, and when students click on links, it opens them in the embed/iframe, which is not a great UX. I would like it if I could set all links to have _blank as the target so that they open in new tabs/windows automatically, so that I don't have to add that setting every time I add a link.
