This would be amazing. I would love to save components to slot into lessons as I re use the content

I agree with this, part of my planning process is to brainstorm a big pile of ideas for lessons I want to do, and then to gradually sort those ideas into a logical order. I would love CC to be able to have a collection of cards for lessons I'm interested in planning, likes topics and activities, that I can use as my go-to resource

tagging onto this, as it's been in the pipeline of asks since 2018 from what I can see. This really is clutch. Ideally every class has a materials area or undated area to hold plans, notes, links, books etc. At the very least one area for the entire book.
Creating a resource planner doesn't really fulfill this, as it needs to be accessible while working on the planner you're in.
Currently, I create a fake class(es) and drop things there, and leave it invisible on the daily/weekly planning pages and website. Which works but is clunky.

I would love this right now. We've had four snow days in a row at the end of our semester. We are supposed to start a new semester on Monday. I don't want to keep bumping a lesson to save it for when I am actually ready to use it. I'd like to be able to save it somewhere so I can pull it back into the mix when it fits my schedule better.

Hi Claire, This is a great idea! For now, here's what to do:
Click "Lesson Menu"
Click "Save as template" When you find a day you want to use the lesson on:
Click Lesson Menu
Click "Replace Template from Library" Let me know if that helps! Scott

Yes I'd love this! I so often get a good idea from some article and think "Ooh I should use this in ELA" or whatever. It would be SO cool if you could create a bank of lessons right in CC that you could then add to classes! (and/or units) I think you guys are working on this! I hope so!! :-)

That's a great idea! For now, we recommend creating a separate planbook called "Resources" and creating the units/lessons in that planbook. Then, in your actual planbook, click the Lesson Menu and then "Import Lessons & Units" to import those lessons/units. Does that help?

This is exactly what I am looking for as well. I would like to plan out my unit but not tie them to a specific time.

This could be like the "resources" or "unpublished content" functions in Schoology, where I can develop stuff but not have it posted in a lesson, or I could set aside the novel units that I won't use this year.
